Lactation

Lactation is an interesting dream symbol since it is uniquely women who participate in this activity in waking. Dreams about lactation may reflect archetypal gender identity concerns. A woman who dreams of this may see herself as fulfilling a mothering role. This may be literal, as in wish-fulfillment, or figurative, as in mothering a man in a romantic relationship.

Some women have anxiety about their ability to provide adequate milk after childbirth. In these instances, dreams of feeding a child may be visualizations of these concerns.

Fire

Burning is a tremendous fear many people from many different cultures hold in common. However, it is often simultaneously associated with purification. To pass through fire intact is to see oneself as becoming purified. However, being burned may indicate that one perceives life as extraordinarily threatening and painful. If a particular object is on fire (house, car, etc.), this may symbolize over-commitment to it or fear of a world without it.

Freud found fire to be a symbol of male power. In this case, fire may indicate control over a circumstance or a struggle to feel that way, depending on whether the fire is controlled or not.

Lightning

Lightning in dreams is a pretty flexible image. Some people enjoy lightning and therefore desire it as a background effect. Others are frightened of its power and unpredictability. However, there are many power metaphors that merit attention.

You may find yourself in possession of lightning as a resource for dealing with problems. This type of lightning is an asset for handling frustration that could be characterized as a wish-fulfillment. Dream logic: just blast it out of the way.

Lightning may also be a warning in your dream. If you have fears about lightning in waking life, a person whom you are with or a building that you enter in your dream may cause a lightning effect. This is the mind's way of offering a dramatic visual warning. There may be an element of judgment involved, as divine wrath is often envisioned as a lightning bolt (personified in the Greek god Zeus and the Norse god Thor. What did the lightning strike, and did anyone get severely injured?

Spirit Guides

The use of spirit guides as a means to acquire aid and understand a larger reality has become common in recent years. In these dreams, sacred or supernatural knowledge comes from a stranger who seems to have mostly human attributes but also seems to possess some supernatural quality.

To dream of such a guide often reflects a deeply felt need for mentoring, direction, and support that is not being given through conventional relationship. Or, such relationships may not exist in the dreamers life, hence the need for a spirit guide.

Electrical Shock

Electrical shock and other energy emanations are often associated with trying to cross a taboo line or some other kind of punishment. Sometimes the energy is not from a traditional source (i.e., cattle prod, electric fence, stun gun), but is rather the projection of power against us from another dream figure. Probably because of the paralyzing power of electrical shock and the invisible nature of electricity, we feel invisibly restrained or unable to move. The taboo we are violating may be obvious, such as trying to enter a place that is forbidden or itmay be more general, trying to assume too much personal power in the cosmos. Either way, being confronted by electrical or other energy metaphors can be a jolting dream event.

It is a sign of good luck if swallows build a nest on your property. To ensure it, cross your fingers and make a wish for good luck.

Should you see a bat, make a wish for long life and happiness.
This is no doubt based on the old Chinese belief that the bat signifies long life and happiness.
If a bat lands on your head, make a wish, or the bat will remain there until it hears thunder.

If you find a penny, make a wish on it. If you spend it, your wish won't come true. Some people keep them as lucky pennies, hoping that the longer they are held the stronger the chance will be that the wish will come true.

Instead of keeping a wishing-penny they have found, some folks put the penny where someone else can find it. It's a fun thing to do, and if the finder is also a penny-wisher who wishes on it, the chance of the original finder's wish coming true increases.

You don't have to find a penny to initiate a wishing-penny chain. You can make a wish on a penny and turn it into a wishing-penny by leaving it somewhere, hoping a penny-wisher will find it. (Even if the person's not a penny-wisher, lots of people consider a found penny a lucky penny.)

On your birthday, you should wear a silver coin in each shoe (even a partly silver coin will do, such as a dime); at the end of the day remove the coins and make an important wish. Coins kept and used an nually gather more power the older they get.

Eat three slices of raw yam, making the same wish with each bite.

Should you see a whale spouting, you may make a wish.
